Good Bye Citgo and Value city
Well after a long fight in court, Hanover Park and Manards have finally
gotten a judgment and Value City furniture will be moving.
This will make way for the new Manards being built in
the former Tradwinds center location. The Citgo station closed after the
lands new owner, Menards, did not renew their lease. This area was a
problem in the past and Hopefully not be one in the future. We are still
waiting on word on what Menards will do with that section of land. Once
we hear, we will post it here

Good Bye Blockbuster?
On Dec 13th the village will be holding a zoning meeting about changes
to the Menards plans as well as a POSSIBLE new Bank of America where the
Blockbuster Video stands now.
Below are the photos I got when I attended the zoning meeting regarding
the new Bank Of America.

And here is what the new layout will look like with the
CURRENT Menard's and Bank of America plans. Keep in mind, changed COULD
happen from now till time its built...

SO LONG value City
We have recently gotten word that Value City Furniture will be out by
April 1st of 08. At least that's what the court order says. Hopefully
that will be the case and the construction of the New Menard's can get
on the way and the ugly rock pile that's there now will be gone!
There are a few issues...
1. I will be attending the next zoning meeting
concerning Menard's as I DO NOT like, nor think its a good idea that the
plans for their loading docks are right on the corner by Bristol and
Kingsbury. After all, these are two residential streets.
2. The Citgo gas station MIGHT, and again plans can
change, be going bye bye
3. Rumor has it that the Kryspy Kream is not doing well
at all, and Arbey's might be interested in that location.

Good Bye Old library, WaMu and Subway
Demolition has started on the smaller building in Tradewinds where the
Old Library and subway was. Should be completely down by end of the
month at the rate they are working.
Next will be the storefronts that are to the right of
Value City Furniture.

Good Bye Tradewinds
Well unless you never look in that direction, Its impossible for you to
not know that Tradewinds is being torn down. But WHY you may ask. Well
the reason is Menard's has bought the property and will be building
their new store there!
Everything from Dominic's to Value City in the mail "L" shape section
will be gone as well as the smaller building where Subway, Washington
Mutual and The Hanover Park Library was.
Blockbuster, Krispy Kream, McDonald's and Citgo will remain.

Menard's plans
Not to worry! The library didn't move far. It got it's own new building
an the corner of Irving Park and Cumberland where to old Italian
restaurant used to be.
And speaking of NEW buildings in the area, You probably already know
that Auto Zone built their new store where the old KFC used to be, and
the old run down car wash was torn down and a NEW Auto Spa built.
Not to mention the old Arby's has been torn town to make way for a brand
new Popeye's Chicken!
Needless to say this is an exciting time because all the rebuilding in
the area could mean a good increase in property values!
You may have also noticed that the Wendy's on Barrington Rd just south
of Irving Park, and the Brown's Chicken on Irving Park just west of
Barrington have also closed. Wouldn't be surprised if these area's are
rebuilt like the others have.
One last note. No the Target store on Barrington and Schaumburg roads is
NOT being torn down. They are EXPANDING! It will be a SUPER Target
Bigger and Better and adding a grocery section. You will see them
expanding the building on both sides and the front.
This is a great time to be in our area!
